About Us

       Madelyn’s Cakes has been in its works since the founder   Madelyn  Alfonso was a child. Ever since she could recall she has had a  passion for cooking and baking. She  still remembers how she saved her  lunch money to buy cookbooks at the book  fair. She continually tested  recipes in her mom’s kitchen, while family and  friends gave her  feedback on her tasty creations. As she got older, Madelyn  entered  competitions where she won first and second place prizes. The prizes   were in the form of scholarships, which later covered most of her  tuition at  Johnson & Wales University. There she obtained an  associates degree in  baking & pastry and a bachelors in food  service management. 
              Madelyn’s training and talent made it possible for her to  work at the famous  Chef Allen’s Restaurant and at the Turnberry Isles  Resort and Club  in Aventura.               
              All the while, Madelyn was making and selling cakes at  home. After 4 years of  cake production at home, the word got around and  business boomed. As a result  she decided to open her own shop in her  home town of Hialeah.  On January 16th, 2006, the doors of  Madelyn’s  Cakes were opened to the public  where she along with her mom and her  talented staff continue to create amazing  cakes that not only are  delicious but also originally beautiful. Madelyn’s cakes  are made from  scratch with the freshest ingredients and with love.
